General Characteristics: Light wood and soft to cutting; core generally pinkish-chestnut or pinkish-beige, or also, dark pinkish-beige, eventually with brownish shades; little differentiated alburnum, light-beige; right grain; medium texture, uniform; surface irregularly shined and lightly rough to the touch; smell and taste unnoticeable.

Natural Durability: The Jequitibá Rosa wood, when exposed to adverse conditions, is considered of low resistance to the attack of the xylophages organisms, in accordance to practical observations about its uses.

Preservation Treatment: Jequitibá Rosa wood, containing pores partially obstructed by tylos and oil-resin, when submitted to impregnation under pressure, must be of low to moderate permeability to preserving solutions.

Density: Light wood, with density at 15% moisture content of 530 kg/m3.

Main Uses: The Jequitibá Rosa wood, because it is light, of a pleasant colour easy to work and with mechanical properties from medium to low, can be used for plywood, veneer, furniture and frames, interior finishing, shoe heels, clogs, toys and pencils, broomsticks, etc.
